Bill Holland’s Half-Scale Dr. we Triplane

Many scale competitors who’ve flown during Top Gun, know Bill Holland as a Chief Judge for a scale invitation, though he is also a really achieved and gifted scale indication builder and flyer. His newest plan is this extraordinary 50% scale Fokker Dr.1 Triplane and it is a work of RC art!

Bill lengthened Glenn Torrance 1/3-scale skeleton augmenting them to 1/2 scale and Glen afterwards supposing a really a brief pack of ribs, cowling and steel components. The story of this build started while attending Dawn Patrol 2011 in Dayton, OH.

Specifications

Engine: 3W   275cc Twin Spark.

Propeller: 37 x 13

Radio: Futaba 12FG.

Servos: Four Futaba 9157, and dual any Futaba 9156 and Futaba 3305.

Covering: PolyFiber Aircraft Coating and Ceconite 102.

Paint: PolyTone paint consisting of Poly tak glue, Poly Brush dealer, and china Poly Spray UV undercoat. Poly Tone paint colors were Tennessee Red, White, and Black.

Hardware:  All hinges are scale and homemade for elevator, rudder, and ailerons.  Controls use scale pull-pull wire setup.

Wheels: 16-inch-spoked wheels from Tractor Supply. Covered spokes with Ceconite and painted.
